Clients now enjoy effective and comfortable treatments with the new innovations using lasers, pulsed light, and other minimally invasive techniques.

Medical Aesthetic Courses

Didactic Course

National Laser Institute’s classroom curriculum is designed to give students in-depth knowledge of skin care mechanics in addition to the A-Z comprehensive laser training education. Everything from the basics of how lasers work and clinical applications to all aspects of laser safety is included in this 40-hour didactic course.

National Laser Institute instructs our students not only in cosmetic laser and Intense Pulse Light education, we also provide our students with an extensive background on how to position themselves to succeed in the field. Whether your goal is to build your business as an employee or business owner, National Laser Institute educates our students in how to maximize their career goals in this booming industry. Louis Silberman, the medical spa owner who has been written up in Entrepreneur and Fortune magazines for his successes in the health/beauty market, teaches the Medical Aesthetics Marketing course. You will also receive the Marketing and Operations Package, a 3-hour DVD on how to build your business.

All students receive a Laser Course Workbook and are trained to become a Laser Safety Officer (LSO), which includes the required 2-hour CPR training. You will also observe Lam probe technology, which works on radio and high frequency technology. Upon completing the didactic course, you will be prepared to begin your hands on training and enter into the medical aesthetics field.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal, also known as Permanent Hair Reduction, is the most popular cosmetic laser treatment offered in the United States. In 2006, nearly 1.5 million procedures were performed. The treatment uses light to penetrate the hair follicle and permanently reducing the number of new hairs growing back, eliminating the need for waxing or shaving in the future.

The Permanent Hair Reduction training course includes the 40 hours of classroom education and 24 hours of clinical observations and treatments. The training covers laser biophysics, tissue interaction, device terminology, safety precautions, and laser safety officer training. The course will train the student in hair removal using both laser and IPL equipment.

Intense Pulse Light Photo Facial

Photofacial is a relatively new and increasingly popular technique that is one of the most lucrative cosmetic procedures delivered by medical spas and physicians. The photofacial treatment has the ability to reverse the aging process and correct skin damage in a non-invasive manner.

At National Laser Institute, we train on the very latest, most comfortable, and most effective technology available which has been written up in numerous trade publications. This technology treats a wide range of conditions including: age spots, sun damage, freckles, hyper-pigmentation, rosacea, uneven skin tone, and broken capillaries.

Laser Acne Reduction

National Laser Institute’s Laser Acne Reduction training incorporates broad-spectrum light technology, which attacks acne with both short and longer wavelengths.

This course is a new essential for the cosmetic laser technician.

Laser Tattoo Removal

In March 2002, Esquire Magazine reported that one in every eight Americans is tattooed and that 17% of those Americans will eventually want their tattoo removed. Indeed, this is a business that is on the verge of exploding, and National Laser Institute is pleased to offer the fastest, most comfortable, and most efficient technology in its laser tattoo removal training.

The newest technology targets the ink directly, rather than breaking the top layer of skin as older technology did. Clients strongly prefer this newer method because it is far less painful and avoids wounds, scarring, and downtime. In this course you will learn how to adjust the wavelength of light to treat a variety of colors of tattoos. National Laser Institute also offers a hands-on training with advanced laser tattoo removal technology in order for students to become comfortable and confident while performing treatments.

Laser Cellulite Reduction

Cellulite effects one third of all Americans–over 100 million people–and the cellulite treatment market is a $500 million business. At National Laser Institute, we use educate on the only over-the-counter laser cleared by the FDA for the temporary reduction of cellulite. The TriActive Laser system was originally developed by laser scientists in Italy and is now used all around the world. In this portion of the course you will learn to use TriActive’s six diode lasers to penetrate tissue, stimulating fibroblasts for collagen production and promote smoother, healthier-looking skin.

Laser Vein Reduction

Spider veins, telangiectasias, hemangiomas, mature, and blebbed portwine stains and other vascular malformations, rosacea, scars, and warts are common problems we all encounter. Light based technologies offer a comfortable, effective, and safe method to treat these conditions. In this course, you will learn how to treat all types of vascular and pigmented lesions more effectively than conventional, single-wavelength technology.

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening

National Laser Institute is exceptionally proud to be the first in the United States in our educational field to offer Radiofrequency Skin Tightening to smooth and tone the skin. This procedure sends heat into the dermal layer of skin while the epidermis remains protected, resulting in a plumping of the skin to improve elasticity, wrinkles, and fine lines without downtime.

Fractional Laser Wrinkle Reduction

Wrinkles are part of the natural aging process. Fractional Laser Wrinkle Reduction provides soft tissue coagulation and non-ablative skin resurfacing with high efficacy and no downtime, something that more and more clients are demanding. This is another new “essential” in the cosmetic laser technician’s education and National Laser Institute is pleased to be the first in the United States in our educational field to offer our students this groundbreaking training. The marketplace first came about with the invention of the “Fraxel laser” and the newest technologies have been deemed “Fractional.”

Chemical Peel

Chemical Peels provide great non-invasive skin exfoliation and skin rejuvenation results that retexture, smooth and brighten the skin. Rough or dry patches can be resurfaced, uneven pigmentation spots can be reduced and the look of fine lines and wrinkles can be improved as cell turnover is increased and damaged skin cells are shed. Various concentrations and combinations of peel solutions also prove to be effective for the improvement of mild acne by stripping away plugs of keratin, oil, and dirt that often lead to outbreaks.

The latest advancement with Chemical Peels is the Laser Enhancement Peel: a strict solution that is unique to each client and designed to prepare the skin for a laser skin treatment, increasing the beneficial outcome of the laser treatment and extending a client’s rejuvenation results!

Microcurrent, Dermal Infusion and Vibration, non-crystal Microderm and Lamprobe

Microcurrents

Microcurrent is becoming an increasingly popular choice for clients seeking non-invasive procedures to stimulated their skin tone. Microcurrent is an extremely low level of electricity applied to the face or body that mirrors the body’s own natural electrical currents, triggering chemical reactions at a cellular level to enhance the production of natural collagen and elastin. The benefits are cumulative and typically are performed in a series to gain maximum results.

Included in the didactic portion of this class we introduce you to the Lamprobe machine, which works on radio and high frequency technology with various probe sizes. It is ideal for the treatment of Hyperpigmentation, Skin Tags, Spider Naevi, Cholesterol Deposits, Milia, Telangiectasis, Acne Pimples, Fibroma Simplex and Clogged Pores. It allows the operator more control with efficient results for the precise removal of minor skin irregularities.

Advanced Microdermabrasion

(Dermal Infusion and Vibration non-crystal Technologies)

Nearly 1 million microdermabrasions were performed last year, making it one of the most popular modalities for skin rejuvenation. National Laser Institute emphasizes vibration and dermal infusion-based technologies, the very best in non-crystal procedures to smooth and renew the skin. For aestheticians or individuals working under a physician’s supervision, we offer the principles of microdermabrasion/dermal infusion. You will be trained in the preparation, technique, and post-treatment care procedures, as well as receive hands-on equipment training.
