Laser Tattoo Removal Course More Than Cosmetic It’s Preventative

According to Bloomberg News, removing tattoos has become a “roaring trade, with one in seven expressing misgivings — some enough to spend thousands of dollars for several laser sessions.”

The majority of tattoo removal treatments are fueled by regret for their past decision for cosmetic reasons. But now there is a growing concern about the long-term effects of how dangerous ink deposits are.  People are worried about their future health and laser tattoo removal is no longer just a cosmetic treatment, it’s a preventative one.

We can expect to see the demand for tattoo removal increase dramatically with the dangers of tattoo ink entering mainstream awareness.  We invite you to continue reading today’s blog and we will show you why now is the time to take a laser tattoo removal course.

LASER TATTOO REMOVAL COURSE MORE THAN COSMETIC, ITS PREVENTATIVE

LASER TATTOO REMOVAL COURSE MORE THAN COSMETIC, ITS PREVENTATIVE

Laser tattoo removal is no longer a trivial pursuit. It can mean the difference between good health and debilitating disease.  This past July, in the medical journal The Lancet, it was reported that most people have a tattoo, but few of them are mindful of the long-term dangers associated with ink.  While most people who have tattoos are aware of the short-term risks such as infection, bleeding and pain, the long-term risks are not as well known.

Tattoo ink is injected into living tissue, which is cause for concern as they are finding ink particles in blood vessels, immune cells and nerves. On average, modern day tattoos inks consist of an organic dye, but some may have traces of preservatives and contaminants such as arsenic, nickel and lead.  After inspecting the bodies of deceased tattoo wearers, it has been found that 90 percent (90%) of the ink has moved off the skin over the decades. Researchers are trying to determine if the ink ends up in the organs, and if so, what kind of disease can they cause.

It has been proven that tattoos are tainting breast cancer diagnosis as they hinder detection and management of breast cancers because tattoo ink has found its way into the sentinel lymph nodes.  The result of this study has spawned a European recall advisory over nine types of tattoo inks, which contain carcinogenic chemicals. The inks, which are a variety of black, grey, red and purple, are being recalled and the risk they pose is classified as ‘serious’, which is the highest of four risk levels.  Nine of the inks come from China, Japan, and the United States, and seven of these contained excessive levels of the cancer-causing chemical 4-methyl-m-phenylendiamine’ according to the release by Daily Mail.  A further four of the inks also contained dangerous levels of heavy metals such as lead, copper, arsenic, and nickel.

Laser Tattoo Removal Business is About to Explode

You can see how important it will be for people to remove their tattoos for their health.  The gold standard in tattoo removal is with a laser.  Laser tattoo removal works by going through the skin, breaking up the ink particles, and removing the ink from skin cells.  From there, it can be ejected from the skin, chewed up by the body’s own scavenger cells, or taken away by the lymphatic system.  Laser tattoo removal is a series treatment, which means clients need more than one treatment to see results. Consequently, the average revenue for a laser tattoo removal client is $1,400. Americans spend about $1.65 billion a year on tattoos, according to the Statistic Brain Research Institute. It counts 21,000 tattoo parlors in the U.S., each charging an average of $150 an hour.

The laser tattoo removal industry is preparing for a large spike in demand as illustrated by the skyrocketing growth in laser device sales.  “Revenue from sales of aesthetic equipment by publicly traded companies expanded 20 percent annually from 2009 to 2012 and is now worth about $1.25 billion, according to Cutera Inc., a supplier of laser and light-based medical devices from Brisbane, California. Israel’s Syneron Medical Ltd. says it’s the industry leader, with 28 percent of the global market.
