Last year, Actavis acquired Allergan, Botox’s manufacturer, in a $66 billion dollar deal. Actavis recently announced the first quarter financial results, which reveal a significant increase in sales. With the Botox deal sealed just two months ago, Bidness reports that “the major contributor towards the Irish company’s soaring revenues has been its acquisition of the Botox maker; Allergan, Inc.”

Actavis’ Botox deal was reportedly the biggest acquisition the company has made. With the addition of the Botox product, Actavis expects to see increasing annual revenue. The acquisition of Botox has now made Actavis “one of the leading drug makers in the world,” according to Bidness. There is a versatile range of health care and skin care issues that Botox is able to combat, including wrinkles, involuntary twitching, bladder control, and more.

Botox is the #1 nonsurgical treatment in the United States with millions of treatments performed in the U.S. alone last year. Because it is noninvasive, there is no required downtime. This is one of the many perks Botox offers as an anti aging treatment. However, before it was cosmetic, Botox was first FDA approved in 1989 to improve eye muscle disorders. Later it was FDA approved to reduce wrinkles as well as for many other skin and healthcare treatments.
