WHY CHOOSE NATIONAL LASER INSTITUTE?
AESTHETICIAN & CAREER CHANGER FAQ’S
No. This is a common misconception. Many medical professionals incorrectly assume they must attend many months of specialized advanced training in order to perform cosmetic injections such as BOTOX® and Dermal Fillers. In today’s medical aesthetic marketplace, a licensed nurse can perform these treatments after qualified training at a state-regulated aesthetics school.
Here at National Laser Institute, although most of our medical professional students choose our 14-day CE/CME comprehensive course to become more marketable in the field of laser aesthetics as well as cosmetic injections, a number of our students decide to train with us for one day of concentrated instruction. We offer a variety of courses that adhere to the busiest of schedules. Whether you decide to attend National Laser Institute for one day, one weekend, or one week, we guarantee you to gain the expert competence and confidence needed to start your cosmetic injection career the very next day.
Laser and injectables go hand and hand. To be the most marketable in this industry, you should offer both modalities in order to best treat and accommodate every client that walks in your door according to their individual skin issues and skin types. However, it is strictly a personal decision based on whether your passion lies in offering injectable treatments, laser treatments, or both. Laser can be something you choose to do on your own, or you may wish to delegate to other employees at your facility.
Most of these schools are only capable of providing you with 1-3 days of limited training and accredited hours of completion. National Laser Institute offers an accredited 7-day continuing medical education course on BOTOX®, Dermal Fillers, and laser modalities for nurses and physicians. Our courses allow students more time to practice and observe numerous aesthetic treatments and techniques in a clinical setting. Classes are top-notch, lead by a team of dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Clinical training takes place in our 10,000 sq. ft. retail medical spa located directly on the National Laser Institute campus. Students gain one-on-one, personalized experience in a luxury setting with real clients.
We are also the only school to provide students with a comprehensive business development and marketing seminar lead by nationally recognized authorities on the health and beauty industry. Our students leave our courses with not only an unsurpassed amount of training and education, but also crucial marketing tools and How To’s for optimized success in the industry.
Our clinical instruction is intimate and hands-on. We maintain one instructor for a maximum of five students during all clinical training sessions. We also keep our overall course size to fewer than 30 students at all times. We limit the size of our courses in order to guarantee individualized attention. Our team of instructors is comprised of highly qualified experts in the field of medical aesthetics, including dermatologists and plastic surgeons. All classes and individualized instructions are personalized to your skill level, experience and practical needs.
A minimum of two clients for BOTOX®, two for Dermal Fillers, two for Sclerotherapy and more than two for laser applications. You will also support, observe, and participate in the treatment of many other clients in addition to the direct treatments you perform yourself.
Yes. Hands-on training is the key. Every graduate of National Laser Institute will leave feeling confident of their abilities to perform these treatments.
This field of medical practice offers part time and full time positions. The hours are more flexible than regular nursing schedules in acute, bedside and clinical care nursing, and the work environment is far less demanding. Medical professionals, nurses, and physicians are beginning to take control of their careers by exploring options other than the traditional roles of yester-year nursing. Nurse entrepreneurs and contractors are enjoying the many benefits of the cosmetic industry by making their own hours, working less, and earning more income.
Certain laser skin treatments, like laser hair removal, may bring in revenue close to $150-$200 per treatment, which is a bit low when compared to more costly injectable treatments, like BOTOX® or Dermal Fillers that can range $500-$600 per client. However, some of the more popular laser procedures, including Fractional Skin Resurfacing, IPL Photofacials, and Radiofrequency Skin Tightening treatments can average $1,000 per treatment. We find many of our physicians and nurses to focus on these types of laser modalities, which can actually hold more earning potential in addition to standard injectable treatments.
As a nurse, you are typically required to secure the supervision of a medical director in order to perform injectable treatments. If the facility where you plan to offer these services already has a physician on staff, such as an OB/GYN medical center or private practice, your needs for on-site medical supervision are already met. For non-medical locations, such as a hair salons, spas, or resorts, you will be responsible for finding and providing your own supervising physician. The exact requirements of a supervising physician vary from state to state. Some states require a physician to be in the building, while other states only require periodic visits by the directing physician.
Yes. In addition to the comprehensive marketing seminar including with your course, we offer personalized business consulting services for all of our students.
