The Top 3 Cosmetic Laser Training Myths
Myth #1: Cosmetic laser tech training takes a long time
Firstly, it doesn’t take a long time to study cosmetic laser training. In fact, the National Laser Institute provides a fast bootcamp that will give you the cosmetic laser tech training you need to succeed in the medical aesthetics industry. With this in mind, one of our successful graduates was a complete career changers; Merica received her cosmetic laser tech training at our 2-week cosmetic laser bootcamp!
Above all, we are known around the world for our two-week comprehensive cosmetic laser tech training program. We train students how to safely and effectively provide laser hair reduction, and laser tattoo removal. As well as that, you will learn cellulite reduction, body contouring, skin tightening, and microneedling treatments. Let’s look a little closer at these in-demand treatments and what you can learn at the 2-week cosmetic laser training bootcamp.
Laser Hair Reduction
Laser hair reduction is a hair removal technique that is designed to stop unwanted hair in its tracks. This treatment works by using laser technology to target pigmented hair follicles within the skin. As a result, the targeted hair follicles absorb cosmetic laser technology. Due to this, the pigmented follicles become damaged and are prevented from growing back. For example, laser hair reduction can be applied to the bikini area, legs, abs, back, chin, and neck. It can also be used in the chest area, upper lip, axilla, arms, and shoulders.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Everyone knows laser tattoo removal is designed to help lift the pigment from unwanted tattoos on the body. But did you know laser tattoo removal uses Q-switched laser technology? For instance, this laser safely emits energy and light into the pigment, breaking the pigment down into microscopic pieces that are safely transported out of the body through the lymphatic system. Most importantly, the body can only safely dispose of a certain amount of pigment at a time, so the treatments are spread apart over many weeks for the best results and for the safety of the client.
Cellulite Reduction
Cellulite reduction is a treatment that uses a combination of bipolar radiofrequency and infrared light. Moreover, this modality uses vacuum and massaging techniques to improve the appearance of cellulite. Likewise, the combination of cosmetic light and heat increases the metabolism to reduce the size of the fat cells. In addition, the mechanical massage and vacuum techniques smooth and firm the skin’s surface treating the thighs, stomach, back, arms, and more.
Body Contouring: CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting is a body contouring treatment that rids your body of unwanted fat, without having to go through surgical measures. CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved treatment that uses controlled cooling in order to rid the body of unwanted fat that is unaffected by diet and exercise. In fact, this technology works by safely administering precise, controlled cooling methods to target the fat cells underneath the skin. All of this is accomplished while leaving the surface level of the skin intact. Moreover, the fat cells treated by CoolSculpting are eliminated through the body’s natural waste excretion process. CoolSculpting fat-freezing technology treats the abdomen, inner and outer thighs, love handles, and double chin.
Radiofrequency Skin Tightening
Skin tightening is an excellent non-invasive alternative to going under the knife. This technology is used to produce maximum anti-aging effects with minimal downtime. Case in point, skin tightening works with multiple wavelengths of radiofrequency energy and light to treat the skin. This, in turn, promotes collagen and elastin production. Important to note, collagen and elastin play an important role in keeping the skin taut and youthful. Skin tightening can be applicable for subtle to moderate loose skin on the face, neck, abdomen, and arms.
Microneedling
You have probably heard about Microneedling as an effective treatment for reducing the appearance of wrinkles. But did you know that it’s also an effective treatment for sun damage, melasma, and scarring? Here’s how it works: Thin needles are used to make tiny holes in the top layer of the skin to stimulate the skin’s healing process, so it produces more collagen and elastin, making the skin firm and smooth.
Myth #2: I need to have a beauty background to become a cosmetic laser tech
Secondly, no, you do not need to have a beauty background to become a cosmetic laser tech. In fact, in most states, all that is required to become a cosmetic laser technician is that you be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Case in point, our graduate, Merica, did not have a beauty background but knew that she loved getting medical aesthetic treatments for herself. She didn’t know she could become a laser tech until she learned about the National Laser Institute from the laser tech providing her with treatments as a client. Moreover, with over 20,000 graduates, the National Laser Institute has trained stay-at-home moms, career changers, and career starters to begin their dream careers as cosmetic laser techs.
