PDO Threads Training For RNs
Are you looking for a valuable, new service that you can add to your practice to help your patients look and feel their best?
In recent years, medical professionals have regarded PDO threads as a significant advancement in facial rejuvenation because of the outstanding results achieved from this non-surgical technique.
The National Laser Institute offers PDO threads training for RNs that will teach you how to lift and tighten sagging skin along the face without invasive surgery. These courses will also give you the skills needed to perform several skin rejuvenation techniques in order to become a cosmetic nurse in the $16 billion medical aesthetics industry!
What Are PDO Threads?
PDO threads are a skin rejuvenation treatment in which an absorbable material is inserted beneath the surface of the skin to stimulate collagen growth and provide an instant lifting effect. Historically, polydioxanone (the material the threads are made from) have been used for biomedical applications, particularly in cardiothoracic surgery. It wasn’t until recently, however, that PDO threads have been used for anti-aging services.
During a PDO threads treatment, a hypodermic needle loaded with a synthetic suture is gently placed below the skin’s surface. The injected threads are strategically placed within the dermis and grasp on to the loose skin as they are repositioned into place, providing an instant lift. From there, the foreign material will begin to synthesize new collagen. In the following weeks, this will improve skin laxity and droopiness.
The absorbable, non-surgical threads will remain under the skin for approximately four to six months before the body absorbs them naturally. Since there are no cuts or incisions, the threads are placed without leaving any scarring or permanent blemishes. Also known as embedded threading, this treatment can be used on the face and various areas of the body to create a lift, rather than restore volume.
During PDO threads training for RNs, you will learn everything you need to know to successfully master a PDO thread lift treatment. In addition, you will also acquire other skin rejuvenation techniques, such as Botox and dermal fillers, to help your clients achieve their skin care goals and desires.
Become A Cosmetic Nurse
Since PDO threads are considered cosmetic, training is essential! Medical professionals who wish to incorporate PDO threads into their practice must enroll in medical aesthetics school. Each CE/CME training course includes classroom education and hands-on training so that attendees feel comfortable and confident in performing the procedures they learned.
In the classroom, your instructor will lead in-depth discussions about the industry and cover topics such as:
- The anatomy of the face
- How to treat the cheeks, jowls, jawline, oral and maxillofacial areas
- Patient assessment, evaluation and consultation
- Proper treatment technique for the use of PDO threads
- How to avoid, manage and treat adverse reactions and complications
For a comprehensive learning experience, attendees will complete hands-on training in a medical spa environment where they will watch comprehensive demonstrations and treat clients to practice several skin rejuvenation techniques. This will give you a taste of what to expect once you become a cosmetic nurse!
