Jon Grenney and Anna Lewis gave up their career of working on Super Yachts, which navigate around the Mediterranean sea, in order to open up their own cosmetic laser clinic, according to Western Morning news. The idea sparked after someone was denied employment working the yachts because of visible tattoos.
According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, there was a 43% increase in laser tattoo removal in 2011-2012. “One of the biggest reasons for tattoo removal is concern about employment,” ASAPS states. “Plastic surgeons and dermatologists are seeing more and more people who want their tattoos removed, frequently because they worry that the tattoos could cause problems with employment.”
Once Jon and Anna realized “tattoo regret” could be a financially beneficial way to create a business, they sought out cosmetic laser training. After completing their cosmetic laser course, they decided to open up their own clinic.
“We decided to come back to England and start a business because we had already run busy charter yachts which are effectively business’s themselves,” Jon told Western Morning News. “[We] realised that we could be very driven and focused running our own business rather then someone else’s.”
On top of offering cosmetic laser tattoo removal treatments, Jon and Anna’s services also provide laser hair removal, laser acne reduction, fractional skin rejuvenation, and much more.
There are multiple reasons why people decide to become cosmetic laser technicians. Like Jon and Anna, many want the satisfaction of running and operating their own business. Many love the skin care industry and want to stay on top of the latest anti aging trends. Others love the rewarding feeling they get when they boost a client’s confidence level after eliminating big skin care concerns.
