What is a Cosmetic Laser Technician?
A cosmetic laser tech is a skin care expert who typically works in a medical spa using laser therapy for hair removal, skin tightening, body contouring and other cosmetic applications. As a cosmetic laser tech, you will evaluate the skin care concerns of clients and develop a treatment plan that best suits their needs.
Laser hair removal is perhaps the most common use of cosmetic laser technology. Other popular services include tattoo removal and minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
There are a variety of certification programs for cosmetic lasers available for those interested in becoming a cosmetic laser tech. While certification varies from state-to-state, the coursework may include topics such as laser safety, patient care, how lasers work and contraindications.
