What Are PRP Injections?

PRP injections (which stand for Platelet-rich plasma) are a concentration of a patient’s own platelets. Platelets accelerate the healing in the body of injured muscles and joints. When clients get PRP injections they are using their body’s own healing system to repair and rejuvenate the skin. These injections can help with many skin concerns.

Microneedling With PRP

The Process

Microneedling with PRP is similar to the process of getting a normal Microneedling treatment. During the procedure, tiny needles create micro-injuries in the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. Collagen is an essential protein that provides elasticity to the skin. It helps the skin appear more youthful, vibrant, and glowing. Over a series of treatments, this can lead to entirely new layers of skin appearing and scars, acne, sun damage, and many other skin issues fading away. The micro-channels that the tiny needles create then allow for the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to be absorbed into the dermis. Throughout the treatment, the PRP is applied to the skin topically. The treatment stimulates new collagen production and leads to quicker healing time in the skin, quicker results, and healthier cells in the treated area.

Microneedling with PRP Targets:

  • Melasma
  • Sun damage
  • Acne pitting
  • Fine lines
  • Acne scarring
  • Pigmentation
  • Wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Texture
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Areas:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Chest
  • Stretch Marks

This treatment has a downtime of twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Side effects may include some swelling, redness, and tenderness at the area that is treated for twenty-four to forty-eight hours following the treatment. For Microneedling with PRP, you will need three treatments on average. Treatments can be spaced apart every four to six weeks for best results. Three treatments are needed for best results.
