Laser Tattoo Removal Online Training

Tattoos have been popular for hundreds of years, whether for artistic, cultural, spiritual, and rebellious reasons. However, about 35% of people aged 18 to 25 have a tattoo, and many of them regret it and seek removal from the medical aesthetics industry.
This increased demand for removal makes laser tattoo removal training online a strong option for people re-entering the workforce or changing careers or for aestheticians and medical professionals who want to increase their income.
Why Do People Get Tattoos Removed?
Tattoo removal is one of the fastest-growing aesthetic procedures. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) reported the average cost of tattoo removal is $697, making tattoo removal training online an obvious career choice.
According to a recent GQ article:
About 20 to 28 million Americans (roughly 25% to 33% of the 88.5 million people who have tattoos) report regretting their body art, leaving a large pool of prospective removal clients.
With half of all millennials having at least one tattoo, tattoo removal training online equals job security and this industry shows no signs of slowing down.
How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?
How does tattoo removal work? A high-intensity light beam breaks up the pigment of a tattoo. The laser emits short, intense pulses of light that pass through the upper skin layers and are absorbed by the pigment. The pigment breaks into smaller particles, which the body’s lymphatic system removes.
A Little Laser Tattoo Removal History
Laser tattoo removal is a relatively recent technology.
Before lasers. Before the late 1980s, removal was often painful and left scars. Methods included dermabrasion (sanding away the surface and middle skin layers), cryosurgery (freezing the area), and excision (surgical cutting with stitches).
Lasers today. Lasers are the standard today because they are low risk, effective, have minimal side effects, are performed on an outpatient basis, and also carry a lower risk of infection and scarring than older methods.
Laser choice. The laser type depends on the tattoo’s pigment colors. Yellow and green are the hardest to remove, while blue and black are the easiest.
Number of sessions. Treatment needs multiple sessions, and only qualified technicians should perform it. On average, 10 to 12 treatments are needed for clear results and possibly up to 30 treatments for full removal, though this varies by tattoo location, age, quality and the body’s ability to clear ink.
Clients who want fading rather than full removal, usually to prepare for a new tattoo, typically need 2 to 3 sessions.
Requirements For Technicians
Requirements vary by state. In most states, technicians must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or GED. There are exceptions, so call an advisor with questions about your state.
Why Start Your Tattoo Removal Training Online Today?
The answer is the income you can make after you get your laser certification. The national average salary for a technician according to ZipRecruiter is between $50,757 to $75,000. This does not include tips or commission, so the income potential can be unlimited based on how many clients you can see daily, weekly or monthly as one laser tattoo removal session can be anywhere between $200 to $500 dollars.
Many clients will also need multiple sessions (spread out over the course of 4 to 5 weeks), anywhere between five to 12 for clear results; and sometimes up to 30 sessions more for full removal. For example, if you see a minimum of 10 clients a day at $500 dollars a session that is 5K a day!
